Acacia Seed Germination Guide

Successfully germinating Acacia seeds involves a few essential steps to ensure healthy growth. Follow this guide to increase your chances of success.

1. Seed Preparation
Scarification: To enhance germination, lightly scarify the seed coat by rubbing it with sandpaper or a file.
2. Soaking Seeds
Soak the seeds in scalding water for 24-48 hours. This will help to soften the seed coat and initiate the germination process. Bring the water to a boil and pour over the seeds once the water stops boiling.
3. Soil and Containers
Soil: Choose a well-draining potting mix. A mix containing %25 whole sphagnum and %75 perlite works well.

Depth: Plant the seeds about 1-2 cm deep in the soil.

7. Germination Time
Seeds typically germinate within 1-4 weeks. Be patient and maintain suitable conditions.
8. Transplanting
Once seedlings develop a few sets of true leaves, they can be transplanted into larger pots or directly into the garden.
